@justforthelulz: I don't think they'll backstab him outright, they've figured out that Karma is not someone to mess with. I think the divide we'll see is between the classmates who like Ryuu as a person and the ones who try to get close to him to get Karma to do favors for them.

This manga makes a good point. The MC is a character from a serious dark fantasy story. In a conventional RPG, he could be taken seriously, but in a gacha game, he's a joke. It is impossible for a gacha game to have a serious story. The genre's structure doesn't allow it.
