Honestly, the only reason I'm still reading this is for Proud Wolf.

A shame that nobody has picked this back up. It's fairly novel and extremely entertaining.

The pacing is still all over the place, and it really holds the series back. It goes from 0-100 and vice-versa so frequently that it's impossible not to have whiplash, and it destroys so much of the dramatic tension. The action and art are so damn good though.

I hate to complain about translation quality, truly I do. Doubly so when effort was clearly put into cleaning, redraws, and typesetting. But this text is in desperate need of a good editor; it varies between passable and borderline incomprehensible.

I feel like the authors keep putting bits of their marriage in this, and that's why it's so damn charming.

Such a unique take on demons. They're "evil" but not malicious, they simply have the logic of a simple animal.

I'm surprised the series is hated just for having a protagonist that gives into temptation. It's such a believable, human weakness, and it isn't like he feels no guilt over it.

@Raudhbjorn It's because so many of these stories are born out of web novels on Shosetsuka ni Narou, and that community is a lot of very young, first time writers who are inspired to put their own spins on other works they've seen be popular. The idea with a lot of adaptations of these works...

I can completely identify with a protagonist seduced by the Pavlovian allure of grinding to max level.

The "villainess" trope is quickly becoming hyper-saturated, but this is quite a good twist on it. Almost as fun as Hametsu Flag.

The writing is significantly better than the generic setup would suggest. It also does a great job of showing how twisted a world defined by such strict classes could become.
