Thanks for translating! I don't know how much of the plot can you force to make sense even on further rereads. I think some elements are too deranged to make any logical sense, even if you're irrational.

Don't be deterred by the first two stories, which are just horrible. "Give and Take" is also really bad. But the rest are either passable or good. The mangaka's favorite story is "Sanpol and Krezol," but my personal favorite was "Hardboiled Sakata."
