I'm expecting a loss now for our boys, because the next sumo wrestler is clearly based on an actual active (and highly popular) wrestler. Same goes for Honoo who is in the fifth fight. I'd be surprised if the author has the balls to make those two lose.
I'm disappointed that the story went here... but it's too be expected with drama. I suppose it's necessary to bring in a new singer (WHO COULD IT BE??).
It's really good at bringing brief interactions to life, also thanks to great translation of course.
I am the only one who feels Takase is essentially written as a guy with Aspergers? And I don't mean as 'sperg' the way it's used online. Being too direct/awkward, fuzzy eater, only wearing baggy shirts, poor self-care, getting super absorbed into interests and then dropping it and so on...
@thanghe
No doubt this is the case in a country like China, where parts of recent history are suppressed, but it's not like people are completely ignorant of that.
Me back in ch. 36:
Fucking called it
So to be clear, the author is showing off a well known active sumo wrestler here, that people in Japan will probably know. It's like when in a football manga an Argentine midget shows up and schools someone. If you know it's Messi it's going to read...
