I think the issue is that guys will fetishize anything that girls go for, so they'll always have some degree of popularity, but über macho guys moreso get off on the idea of being independant and strong WITHOUT needing women, which ends up coming off as narcissistic and unattractive.
Miyuki and Gwen have a cute little relationship— I'd like to believe that they're not necessarily the bad guys here, they remind me a lot of the two goddesses in Skullgirls, watching and discussing from a distance after they set plans in motion.
For the record, the first kid is from one of Vae's doujins. Whether or not it's canon to this is up to you, but... I highly doubt those """breasts""" are from fondling alone, y'dig?
Why I absolutely adore this guy's situation but loathe Onii-chan wa Oshimai, I may never know.
It might have to do with the whole "permanence" thing...
Super-S Sachi, huh...
In any case, I like them exploring Minami's situation as a parallel to Tomoko's— the story of a girl who became friends with people by being herself, vs the story of a clingy dependent girl who needs friends but makes friends with the wrong people constantly.
