@Jabable123
(Apologies for the lateness, have been kinda occupied with something IRL, I'm sure you know how it goes!)
The conspiracy is a different part of the story and I will just keep it at that (but its very well known between shoujo scan groups, ooof)
Sorry, I am not part of any shoujo...
Hi... uh, dear.
No dear. Its not impossible for you to have opinions as a third party in fact you have your opinion already in display, same as mine. And does it infer to you that using air quotes has something to do with conspiracy? But maybe there is. Quite not sure if I possess the knowledge...
@Jabable123
OK, so we're both readers, then. My bad. I don't appreciate what you are trying to insinuate, though.
What, is it impossible for me to have opinions as a third party? There has to be some kind of conspiracy to the point that you would use air quotes?
@wasabee23
While both versions have translation issues, seeing the other group being so passive aggressive rude to this group really grinds my gears!
In their chapter comments I pointed out translation mistakes for about half of the chapter if you wanna take a peep xP
I was probably a little...
>>"The translation seems a bit off and the cleared and typesetting looks super rushed."
You complain about their translation when your translator seems to have trouble understanding basic Japanese? Seems like you should focus on improving yourself instead of pushing other groups off series they...
@Jabable123
Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? More on that later, though.
More importantly, you don't own the series.
@Nomeno
Putting aside the actual objective fact that the other group's release is littered with embarrassing mistranslations,
what in the hell are you smoking?
At what point does this group do "burgerization"...?
@henman As a rule, people are more likely to complain about something they disliked than they are to say anything even if they liked it, so what are you even trying to say?
I don't even personally agree with how TSP handled the translation, but I really don't get where you are trying to go with...
@CKT0304
Yes, I actually happen to know Japanese, too.
It's not as though I have no idea what is going on.
You are explaining things that don't need to be explained if you actually read the chapter.
This latest comment of yours is even worse, as Nishikata blatantly says that he didn't expect...
@CKT0304
I can't really tell what you're saying, dude, but none of the information you provided was necessary to understand what was going on.
Personally, I think they could've just explained Takagi pointing to the す and the き and that would do it -- And by that, I mean that is all that needed...
@alex68785
Thanks for the detailed explanation (and for the latest chapter!)
Sorry, I'm not very good at this kind of stuff, so it's kind of hard to see the difference.
Especially for the redraws, they just stand out in different ways to me.
Either way, thank you for your work, and sorry. I...
@davidgraham212121
Yeah, it does seem like their editing leaves a lot to be desired, but at least their translation is actually what the Japanese says.
TOOR's translations can be so off the wall, that I have no idea how they arrived at them.
Maybe just making things up when they don't understand?
@alex68785
Thanks. You saved me the trouble of having to point it out myself.
Honestly, I can't believe people say that the two versions are basically the same.
TOOR's version literally has plot altering mistranslations. I don't understand why they insist on continuing to do the series when...
@punpun
Hey, I'm a bilingual translation major and I can say that while I don't always necessarily agree with how HAS words their lines, they are FAR more accurate on a holistic level. TOOR's translations are littered with mistranslations that make it obvious that the translator has only a...
Just finished reading the comments. That end page was pretty pathetic on TOOR's part.
I wish they would stop posting such salty messages in their releases that get sent out to the entire reader base and are thus impossible to refute even if wildly inaccurate and maliciously presented in the...
@deadlierziii
Your personal gripe is a fair point! Although I would argue from a contextual point that canola is now used as a catch-all phrase for vegetable based oil. So, to ensure the meaning is properly understood in the context of 18th century Tibet, where canola as it is used now wasn't...
@ReimuHakurei
There's no need to be rude... Perhaps they just need a good translation checker? I wish I could offer to help, but right now uni is really busy for me...
While I can appreciate wanting to translate something you like and wanting to provide a translation for people who may not be able to access the official translation, as is all too common these days, I must caution you that there are many translation errors.
As a translator who also really...
