In the novel translations it is never mentioned that he did or has visited his Grandfather since the start of the novel. Up to the last mention of his Grandfather it is implied that he has not visited him since he started playing Satisfied.
The issue with Link using 22 attacks and then only 17 attacks, it's most likely that the 22 attacks is the error and should have been 12 attacks. Its last use before this was only 10 attacks, and in the translation it states that he just increased Link to level 2 after the 22 attack.
??? WTF What was the advantage to burning the house down? If the bulk of his fighting force happened to be in there that's one thing. But to just burn it down for no reason seems incredibly stupid. There's no reason to not just capture it and use it as a base of operations for yourself.
