Could this actually be some form of overload created by all the MD@Home clients trying to connect with the server(s) and ending up DDos'ing it in some way ?

Could it be that someone else had that same IP earlier and has not registered the change ?

I was pondering on getting the MD@Home client set up, but I'm a little worried that the same would happen to my network connection as well. My IP doesn't change often so it'd be a problem for me to get my ISP to renew it manually 😢.
