@Xxjuggernaut my theory is that perhaps the author may want to show "character growth". It would have a lot more impact to be able to see two characters, that initially hate each other, finally getting along, or for the girl to realize how "toxic" she is being and change her ways.

@Wolvenworks to clarify, their base was in the land of the dead, but they had to dig an underground tunnel all the way to the fire temple to do the ceremony to fuse all the gods (and that temple happens to be at Genef)

@Avenger88id maybe you do not recognize him because he has no clothes, but he was the warrior with the eyepatch that saved everyone at the end of season 2. He was also a very core character in season 1. I highly recommend re-reading chapter 60 in season 2 for a refresher on what happened to him.
