Too many repeated panels for me. Every chapter starts with the last two or three panels from the previous chapter, and these chapters are fairly short as it is. The "reminder" panels feel like filler.

I think you are doing just fine. Keep the translations in the margins if its easier, especially since you used the word "ugly" in your notes. 😄
