'Break apart' does sound kind of awkward, and it's obviously not 'breakup' (unless the author actually pushes the incest route LMAO).
Zetsuen (絶縁) might be better translated as 'isolated' is this context?

@bugmenot2 Just say "go on our own" or "go by myself", or "go ahead of her"
Edit: Leave her/him behind, do this by myself, be on my own, on one's own...
 
Last line he says makes way more sense in Japanese, but I’m not sure how to convey that. It’s all a bit stiff, though.

I also have no idea why m’dude did that, unless Hazuki is going to mistake his sister for him and think he’s cheating. Still think it’s unnecessary.

It’s not as incesty in Japanese, but it still has that “really attached to onii-chan” vibe which I really don’t like. Japan...
