And of course before some translation errors, they were most likely fur slippers so poor Cinderella had to try on bloody rags by the time it was her turn, I should imagine.

Honestly though, that part of the story makes me seriously impressed at the step-sisters' resolve to go through with that. They would probably have made terrifying and very memorable queens.
