Hahaha ahh we're back to a calm. I'd hate it if another death happened. I get that this is war but I just want the easygoing to be easygoing because can't take Renee being sad.
Also I don't think Cabel minds if she's slow but he probably wouldn't want her to be in any danger like last time.

I think Renee's character just becomes more lovable by the chapter. She's such a well-written character.

This is such a slow fucking burn and I absolutely love it. I was so accustomed to stories and first chapter with the prologue being like this happens then rewind time only to catch up in 2 chapters to said scene. Its really refreshing that we have so much context and get to see the world and characters before the scene in the first chapter. Its super refreshing and it helps that the author/artist have done an excellent job conveying scenes and emotions so far. All while being believable and fun as well as brutally real. It has a nice mix of absurd antics (Renee) and real moments (the ambush and trauma)
