This chapter sorta smelled like character development but it's only chapter 2 so it may not last.
This series kinda reminds me of Mushoku Tensei with how the MC starts off as rather unlikable. I don't think this series has quite the same potential though.

I'm not saying he's a villain, but he's an unrepentant arse who acts on his half-baked delusions with almost no regard for the consequences to himself or others.

Following this story. Maybe he'll become a better person, or maybe I'll just roast him every chapter. Either way, this should be entertaining at least.
