I, too, thought 'omegaverse' was another name for 'shared universe'. Then I googled it and realized, Ah, no wonder OP mentioned it in the same breath as mpreg.

Omegaverse is indeed a sub-genre of yaoi (sc: anime planet) but I found an omegaverse with straight pairing and not categorized as H

I remember seeing that in the 'New Titles' scroll, but thought 'Omega Male' in the description simply meant an ultra-mega-absolute-loser type, to contrast with 'alpha male' and 'beta male'.
It wasn't until this thread today that I learned of its yaoi origins/connotations.
