I could describe the second part of this chapter almost entirely in tropes. Proud, smart girl tries to repay debt. Bully girl tries to bully by making fun of other girl for being smart and proud. Main character stops bully.

@Mewples she rudely interrupted their conversation and even started mocking the two of them+ wants to take the notebook. that girl is a bully and has hurt many other students (even if she didn't physically hurt anyone she was their accomplice). when the smart girl shot back at her she immediately tried to respond with physical violence right in front of everyone. She mocks people but can't handle being mocked back, is that okay? ??
the reason the mc and the smart girl has good grades is because they put a lot of effort and she belittled all of it with her remarks. Even mc had to start with the basics again to understand the intermediate+ lessons. She won't understand the notes 'now' at the level where she is who doesn't even know the basics.
Maybe she will prove her wrong (maybe she's secretly a genius) but what then? the problem isn't her brain or IQ but her current self-important and childish attitude. smart girl is wrong for assuming she knows less but she also called mc and her hypocrites without knowing them. If she becomes friends with mc then she will probably change (cus plot) but right now she's still an annoying thug who isn't even sorry for the things she's done so I can't bring myself to like her. (yet)

Not really she just wanted to get money and she just accepted the manner because she had little option for anything else...
I mean seriously their standing in the middle of the hallway not a private room or anything so interruption is not a big deal, frankly their could be a lot of people asking them to get out of the damn way.
Equivalently she said something lightheartedly but smart girl said it with malice and hit a sore point....
Besides I disagree, MC is like that, smart girl is just.....She comes from a rich family her family pays a lot for tutors and study schools etc. It’s not entirely her merit but it does stick I guess, it’s just so shit for someone to say all that even though they were helped all the way, MC became more independent since his adult mind additionally he had a vague idea and understanding what he needed to cover..
She will prove her wrong when she gets help to step forward
Don’t call someone’s defense against other people that....She is really fragile with no merits, she has to put up a strong front as it’s the only way to cope, you don’t understand her circumstances so you shouldn’t belittle her entire being for that

Pfft sorry I hate smart girl with a passion, I don’t like a brat who just discards everyone like she does...I freaking hate her love interest too MC, I hate how she turns down someone who loves her completely just so she can wait for MC despite him telling her he isn’t interested and has no time for her.....I goddamn find the bitch so insufferable

@mewples yea they are in a public setting which is not the appropriate place to start a fight? slap people? And yes you can join people's conversations but not in the way she just did unless they are good friends which they are not. These girls backstories haven't even been fully explored yet and bully girl's background is still unknown which is why my impression of her is strictly based on what I have read so far.
She's fragile and puts up a strong front to cope? I don't know how you came up with this conclusion, if i missed it in the webcomic then I'm sorry?? I'm only relying on the information I've read and remembered so far. Having a troubled past/background is never an excuse to hurt others. Other people should never have to pay the price for your suffering. She wants money? Then find a decent part-time job like MC. Kim Han Mi/bully girl chose to be a bully and extort money, no one forced her into it, none of her bully friends forced her into their idea, she was even called their 'brain', meaning she's like their little decision maker. Beating up the other students to make the MC feel bad was her suggestion, her actions are inexcusable and the other bullies got into trouble for it except her. She's not even remotely apologetic nor has she shown any remorse for the bullying and extortion.
Kim Gyu Ri/Smart girl is rich but she clearly works hard and doesn't want to be a burden to her adoptive parents because they've done so much for her, she doesn't even want to burden them with her trauma. She recognises when she needs to repay favours which shows that she has a strong sense of responsibility, it's even shown in this chapter when she lent her notes to MC and she's said before she dislikes being indebted to people. Yes she received tutors and help from her adoptive parents but that's their responsibility as her parents and they obviously want her to do well at school (like most parents do). Smart girl is bland and she's also not some amazing/lovable character (her fainting outside by the garbage bins was weird af) but for me, she's at least tolerable than bully girl.
Also Gyu Ri didn't belittle her whole entire being, she only said like 4-6 lines
that the girl won't get the notes. True she was mocking her and acting holier than thou but Han Mi was being rude and petulant in the first place.
Anyway let's just agree to disagree. I just don't like Kim han mi/bully girl because the author hasn't shown a shred of any good about her yet but if the author intends to make her a part of MC's group then she will definitely make a turn around in the future and by then maybe I'll like her too but for now I can't find a reason for me to like the character she currently is.

@mewples well that sucks. Now I can tell what's going to happen. Please stick to the available translations when replying to other people's comments. I didn't want to be spoiled and it's common sense that not many people read ahead of the translations.
She didn't have to be the bigger person they are within the same age group it's not like Han Mi is a baby nor is she Han Mi's mom or older sister, she doesn't owe her that privilege. See that's exactly why I don't like Han Mi, she expects everyone to go along with whatever she says. The previous chapters, she told the MC to go out with her and was incensed when she was turned down. Gyu Ri didn't pressure MC to go to the study group, the teacher did that. Gyu Ri asked him why he can't come and when MC told her of his circumstances (which she has absolutely no idea of), she understood and left him, she didn't glare at him and hated him for not being able to go (she got mad because of MC's friend's comment regarding her background). And MC wanted to attend the study group anyway.
Maybe you just don't like Gyu Ri's type of character in the first place that's why you are annoyed, people have different reasons to dislike a character and I've shared my reasons why I don't like Han Mi. I don't completely dislike characters like Han Mi as long as they have a secret good side or they get to turn over a new leaf, both which are currently still absent in the story which is why I can't bring myself to support her.
