Saw this a mile away. Of course he was going to get bound against his will. From the moment he planned to ditch her as soon as his friends were freed.

If the DND crew are just going to get murdered off later, I really hope we just skip getting to know them. I would rather spend more time developing the princess' character more so that she's less of a bitch.

I was referring to the other main character that is behaving like a third rate villain in a trash movie, aka the princess. As long as she gets rid of that over the top villain behavior, she can be a top notch MC.

Vera was kinda dummy there. Should've taken the out the priest gave him to clarify the contract details but he was too cocky.
The Princess remains unlikable so far but seeing as she's on the cover I expect, or hope for some development down the line.

Bet 100% the 2nd prince hired DnD group. His Sister complex is out of bound. Expect him to be the main antagonist for minimum 20 Chapter.
btw Reaperscan really struck gold with all the recent naver manhwas.

I am not talking about Vera. I am saying there are many MC's like that, just not female. Vera isn't an asshole, he is rather innocent.

Vera is basically illiterate and ignorant. He is a slave who doesn't know how the world outside works. It's actually rather reasonable that he would be easily duped.

@Ninja Right now both Vera and the princess are assholes. Vera is slightly better because he has (had?) his friends, but when you think about it, he's an asshole towards everyone outside the gladiator group. He's also a scheming arrogant bitch. It's just that right now he's still dumb and innocent so he gets the short end of the stick a lot, all his schemes fail, and the more arrogant characters can humble him, but that might change soon. It's basically a perfect matchup of two scheming assholes right now.

The princess shouldn't change. She's perfect as the arrogant bitch she is. Her proper personal development path shouldn't be towards humility but towards directing that bitchiness to do good. She's basically the arrogant OP tactician shonen character, and she's already great that way.

@sssr Being a Slave who tries to be free is never the asshole. Fuck that, Vera is doing what he needs to to not just get himself free, but also what is essentially his family. He just didn't realize he was selling out his own freedom for theirs.

@Primetimecrime Just because someone's oppressed doesn't excuse him being an asshole. In fact, people who are assholes while being oppressed are exactly the people you don't want around any sort of power because they will tend to abuse it the moment they get it. They're the people least deserving of freedom. Most people living under poverty and oppression do end up with a self-serving attitude because it's necessary for their survival, but Vera is different. He thinks he's smart while he repeatedly makes schemes that put his friends in danger. He's arrogant, not dignified, when facing people who can really fuck him up, and do. When he's pressured he gives up what dignity he has, thinking he's playing a scheme. This is not the behavior of a slave fighting to maintain his dignity at all. He's just an arrogant brat who doesn't know his place, regardless of whether he's a slave or not. The other slaves are equally oppressed and similarly trying to obtain their freedom, but they don't behave like a dumb asshole.
