I just did a second reading of this and noticed that the narration fits well in both possible points of view. Just replace when reading page 2, “Nami’s always been like this” with “Mayu’s always been like this,” and the effect on the second read becomes perfect.

It's not like read something similar before. More like, if you read tons of manga, you get the sense to predict plot twists depending on finest details.
Also, it's a way to detect that we're too much of otaku.
