There are hints in earlier chapters that Shuu reads Fist of the North Star (Raoh drawing) and Dragonball (asking for missing v18). He would prefer to be a hero like in his mangas, but instead all his dad and friends do is kill & rape innocent people. They also just killed Yoko, a woman he was getting emotionally attached to as a mother figure. In his mind he is doing the heroic thing by stopping villains, even if the villains are themselves.

The minute I saw the birthday party I wanted to cry. I saw the Yoko death coming, but the author got me with the second one.

My theory on this is that Shuu has a personality dissorder because of the traumatic events his dads comany has put him through. He decides to end everything and rat them out but then switches personalities and doesnt remember doing it and returns to the hotel as if nothing happened. My theory basically is that Shuu loses his nice personality when his dad is killed and he is left alone, in other words, the Shuu we see in the present.
