Allowed file formats for uploaded chapters

A rather simple question, but I can't find any answers and don't want to test the theory by uploading something.

Image format limitations are described in the Rules for the series' cover images (being JPG or PNG), but that isn't specified for uploaded chapters (only that it is contained in a ZIP).
For the sake of better compression, and ease of use with Photoshop, GIF is a good format. Lossy PNG plugins don't seem to make as good a result.

Is GIF allowed for uploaded chapter pages?

@Afiaki Just make sure the gif doesn't ruin people experience that reading it by like...

Putting all the text with "rainbow", which is like probably will hurt people's eyes
