@havelmom I'd suggest re-reading the last few chapters. The uncle just woke up from the coma he was in from summoning a demon that took the form of his sister, hence why he started choking her but stopped, and why MC had a dream about his mother. Because uncle woke up, he's coming back from the hospital, where he will discover that MC went into the shed he told him not to go into and see the demon that's manifested

Uncle had a crush on Yuu's mother since childhood, his cousin. She married his brother, also her cousin. The mother and father died and Yuu went to live with several relatives until eventually landing at the uncle's house. The uncle tried to do some evil summoning ritual to (probably) get a wish and bring Yuu's mother back. He got hospitalized and Yuu received the wish, he wished for the goddess to become his Onee-chan. The dog demon (probably) was also invocated in the ritual and is (probably) bounded to the uncle
