Ase to Sekken - Vol. 5 Ch. 40 - Report

thank u so much for two chapters in a row! theyre so sweet and cute ugh these two chapters rlly just made me so happy :’)

This was so sweet. I love her family, they're so supportive and take care of her. ❤️

Man sometimes a sugar plot with no conflict is what you need. These people are so happy and fulfilled it's making me jealous

I would have enjoyed purchasing the book if it wasn't delayed to next month, but I shouldn't be a brat about it; I'm sure they have their reasons behind it.

I think this chapter made me realize one of the main reasons this series resonates so well with me, it displays social anxiety very similarly to how I've always experienced it which is honestly kind of rare.

Not sure I understand the whole "insurance" thing.
Okay, first. Nice of Dad to be open to the idea that he might be old-fashioned. I'd say it's pretty logical to try out living together before jumping into marriage.
That said, what's the insurance? If they buy a house and split up, it's economic disaster.

@dudewithmagic If only more authors realized that you can, in fact, create a story without fucking Drama.
And it's not that this manga doesn't have any. But the conflicts it raises are logical, straightforward and solved in a timely manner.

@Tatherwood By insurance, I think he meant them living together without marrying seemed just like a way for Natori to be in a relationship without serious commitment—as if he could just throw aside Asako without any repercussions that come from being married.

@Tatherwood Yeah, I guess you could think of it meaning like Asako being like a “backup” that he could leave anytime for someone else. It’s literally insurance in Japanese, so I wanted to keep the original nuance as much as possible.

@Tatherwood

The insurance is that they're basically incentivized to continue the relationship by living together. With the rent/moving fees over their heads it's much easier to continue living together and subsequently staying together.

The FL couldn't leave the situation for X amount of time they lived together, this gives the ML more freedom to delay choices and act how he wants(could even choose a different women). For someone he barely knows to have "power" over his daughter would worry him greatly. Marriage (in his eyes) is a much more even deal and would assure his daughter would be protected regardless of the outcome.

It's funny because it quite literally is the definition of insurance. The ML is paying money into a system that assures the relationship will be maintained.
