Asebi and Adventurers of Sky World - Vol. 10 Ch. 57 - Life and willpower

This is the part where you realize that if Yuu didn't bring Gram along at the very least Asebi and her sister would've died.

This is also the part you realise how pointless Licorice's actions have been. All she' good for lately is getting people killed.

At least she saw the evil she was about to release. The whole civilisation was ruined by greedy nobles and royalties like the king.

I know she wanted to save her family, but at what cost? A new war with innocent people as sacrifices?

@MCX01
What's the alternative? Is collectively labeling 8600 people they don't even know personally as evil and basically killing them any better? Even if some of them are like the emperor, that also means sacrificing thousands of innocents.
Licorice finally made the right move here. Now with both the emperor-bot and the security modules out of commission, they can think through what their options are in a more level-headed manner... well, I hope, anyway.

The world isn't all black and white. (Saying that on a manga site...) Anyone can make bad (or fatal) decisions based on their emotions, like Licorice or Gram (or Dhalia, even tho she is a robot)

At least she didn’t die again. She just chosed to be Sacrificed and become chibi to win

Licorice really is dumb. Kind of ironic for a "genius".

You just see how a single one of these Valdecian really is, and she took so much time to see it would not be a great idea to revive 9k ppl like the emperor ?

Oh well, at least Dahilia is still best girl.

@th30wl Everyone on here sure loves judging protagonists by their intentions and everyone else by their actions.

Well now Licorice is at least a little bit of a better person than she was looking, still have to wonder how selfish she is though, cause she only moved to protect people she knew. But with last chapter revealing that they -can- shut off life support, this entire finale is even dumber in the first place. Been five years and no one just cut the king's life support. Really really dumb. And if Yuu is the one to tell everyone "Why don't you all just -only- kill the bad people" I'm actually gonna be kinda upset because we shouldn't have gotten this far with this.

So far Dahilia has been the most useful aside for Yuu. Also, I must say that Asebi's dad has been right all along. Rather than killing 9k potentially innocent individuals, brainwashing them and integrating into the current society was a way better solution than what Licorice wanted.

Given how Yuu was able to revive Asebi's sister from the brink of death with available technology, it is entirely possible that Gram might survive. (Though he and Licorice would then have to compete for the dunce cap.)

@WillLi didn't Asebi's sister mention in the last chapter that her father had the chance of finishing the emperor off but he discarded this possibility because he had a scientist's pride?
A.K.A. sheer hypocrisy, because there's no such thing as a scientist pride that would prevent someone from taking a logical action. He hated everyone enought that he'd brainwash an entire population including the innocent, but will not kill people who actually needs to be killed? Even though the way he's going with his brainwashing is by pretty much killing everyone's personality and memories which is the same as killing those people...
