@pdonk yup! Anywhere with an old Japanese-American community. Usually the local jodo-shinshu temple organizes them. Hawaii, California, Seattle, but also oddly enough Utah, Colorado and rural eastern Oregon (old Japanese farm communities). Less east of the Mississippi but they're around.

At the bon-odori in Ogden, Utah, they do the 'tanko bushi' to 'Achy Breaky Heart' which is an experience

in Kaua'i they always play a Japanese cover of Beautiful Sunday, so much that I was surprised to find out it's originally an English song.
