Azur Lane - A Journal (Doujinshi) - Ch. 35 - You're Just a Minor Character!

Where do people get the impression neptune is a waitress and not a maid? I knew a lot of people have said that, but I still don't get how they choose to say as such. Is it the design? That somehow I overlooked that's actually pretty distinctive of a waitress rather than a maid. Or is it the lines? Since she never referred to herself as a maid (though iirc kent and suffolk also didn't say any word "maid" in their lines as well)

Not complaining, just wondering

well, i can't say that this end result was either a surprise, nor deserved.

LOL.

She did it to herself.

@raifive

Her Valentine's gift line clearly distinguishes her from the "maid squad". I believe the part about her being a waitress instead was added in the English translation (which isn't in the wiki).

@Deathhappens can you tell me what her valentine's gift said? I tried looking it up at the wiki but I don't think google does a good job translating it.

also, more than 1 week ago, someone on reddit also pointed that out, and another person answered "it's from her original twitter character introduction" which is here https://twitter.com/azurlane_staff/status/988330724641030146. it says something along "a 'servant' who's good at making sweets, not a maid (important)" and I guess "servant" is better translated to "waitress". so yeah, I got my answer for my previous comment.

EN should've included something like this as well imo

Google Translate is pretty much right, only the word order is a bit jumbled due to Japanese syntax. "Fufufu, one doesn't just give chocolate to make a loved one rejoice, but also to turn that person's head (to grab his attention) more, is that not so? Not just the maid squadron,behold this Neptune-sama as well, Commander".

Though to be fair I'm no moonrune reader, so that could be off. I'm not too sure about whether 振り向いてもらおう is supposed to be literal or not.

Reminder: Unicorn and Jun'you went at it hard enough to lose body parts.

Them some hardass hoes.

They are indeed. I wonder what my Best Girl, Edinburgh is like in Parker’s world? Hiding in a windowless room stacked with gold bars perhaps, a flickering bare light bulb hanging from the ceiling by a wire. She sits on a stool, twitching and clutching a Webley revolver, muttering to herself about Belfast. She hasn’t slept for weeks.
