That council is so dumb oml. Why would you ever endanger a student's life by putting pressure on them to find a murderer!? Not to mention, herbivorous students are seriously disadvantaged under such a criterion.

Elephants aren't perissodactyls though. They're not even in the same superorder.
Elephants are members of the Afrotheria, and are most closely related to Hyraxes and Dugongs. I think they might have been mistakenly associated with the ungulates in the past... but it was all just convergent evolution.
