When I went to school, there was this girl years below me that was developing fast. I think I was in 8th grade and she was 2nd, but she was already one of the tallest girls in school. She didn't have giant boobs or anything, but she had some. Her parents were both over 6 feet and her brother who I knew was closer to 7 feet tall, so she had great genetics, but she was so much bigger than her classmates it was unreal.
Puberty is hitting girls faster than ever, with many having started before the age of 10 now. This manga is an exaggeration, but this stuff does happen. Many a girl end up having their first period before their parents could even explain it to them due to this. But a lot of it has to do with the diet people in the 21st century have. Someone in Japan is less likely to have this issue vs an American due to this.
