Well for me I think it is acceptable when the kid we are talking about is in the stage of puberty (especially in 11-13) but when you are already 16y/o+ and is sexually attracted to your mom that is where it gets weird

I have it on good authority that my mother is attractive (I've noticed a lot of the attention she's gotten from dudes of various age groups over the years), but I've never once had anything other than disgust towards the idea of thinking about her like that.

lots of males are into older women, and lots of males are really focused on looks, so it's not hard for me to imagine that males could be attracted to their mom if she was really beautiful,
they probably wouldn't actually do it because of societal conventions , but I do think it's possible for them to feel attracted

@jujariharo More of an Oedipus type of deal I'd say. Speaking of, I always found it interesting we call it an Oedipus complex when in fact, that story ends in them finding out their relation and neither is happy about it. The mother hangs herself and Oedipus gouges his own eyes out. Clearly not too happy about boning his mom, so naming the unusual attraction toward one's mom after him for people who know it's their mom seems a bit funny.
