Oof, this is a great way to do horror (one of many classic formulations, based on the type of monster and the type of protagonist). No explanation, no resolution. You're almost left to hope that this was a one-off thing, that the story just never gets explained, because the implications of figuring out why a corpse became animate are terrifying.
