@Pocky8 If it is mental illness it sounds like Schizophrenia or some sort of personality disorder that involves delusions. Since the brother says she does bad stuff then "doesn't remember" she is more likely disassociating from reality. Maybe even Borderline Personality disorder, we will know if it is that if she starts using threats of self-harm to try and control Rui. But to be clear, mental illness is not an excuse to be a horrible person, crazy lady Mei Rou needs to step off as she clearly knows her behavior is unacceptable

I'm also thinking along the lines that maybe she has a split personality. Or delusions. Or maybe both.
We can't trust her memories. It must be scary for her but... as you said, she is being horrible and she's proud of it. I feel more sorry for the surrounding people caught up in this mess. If she weren't acting like this, I might feel some simpathy, but...

@Pocky8 DID (Dissociative Identity disorder) which is what split personalities are diagnosed could be a possibility but I'm thinking the subtype of Delusional Disorder, Erotomania (the delusion that someone is in love with them), stemming from Bipolar 1 disorder or Schizophrenia.
