Looks like they might even have been the ones, that used that paralyzing dart on her. Welp, now it adds up, that they didn't even left her some rations and that broken sword. Give her a sad farewell as a bonus, just in case she'll gets somehow rescued and off you go with a brand new Mithril sword. Bastards. Even going so far and coming back and even calling it a memorial service openly, well knowing what it means and leaving no doubt that they are there for the rest of her equipment...those f*ckers.

They went from fools, whose stupidness led to the death of a party member, to murderers. Time to turn edgy: It's either jail or worse for them or it won't be sufficient. They have to be removed.

Ok this chapter really changed my view on the previous one.

Turns out it's a case of rose colored glasses that the nice girl had on with her flash back. These dudes weren't just in a bad situation but rather they were actual assholes that took advantage of the situation. Even worse they really are showing their true colors with how greedy they are getting.
I honestly thought it was just a bad situation where knighty was playing the "leave me just save yourself card" in a very realistic situation. These dudes got lucky to get her sword at first and now and going back for the rest of her loot damn.

I do like the touch where the flashback is actually bias and shows it's really the veiwpoint of the storyteller. Haven't seen that a lot.
