Buddha is not a God. Contrary to what people believe, he is a teacher to Gods and humans and to those who wish to stop being reborn.
But yes he was a human. And at the end of his life, he was said to have eaten spoiled pork or a poisonous mushroom. After death he reached Nirvana. But basically the girl skipped through the whole religion and teaching part and just went to his death.
