C.M.B. - Vol. 41 Ch. 137 - Stone and Photograph

That's why you should stay away from social media unless it's for something important like work or communication with your family. It's a thing full of toxicity.

@tettra not the necklace but i guessed it's the heart broken one.
victim is good looking...heart-broken friend kinda plain looking...
and social media is so full of drama.
and when the comment said that she's a thief, i was conviced.

ofc turns out she's stealing a different things tho :v

@tettra yup, it was me.. I was like 'hey, it's kinda obvious' and of course it turned out to be wrong😂 I didn't know whatever the culprit bought is also made of beads.

There are many things in this chapter that confuse me..

1. So the suspect keep pushing the rock slowly until just the final tapestry, or the rock rolls slowly by itself?

(pg 45 shows she slides the rock but pg 46 shows that she pretty much hands-off and just wait until the rock crush the walnut and falls)

2. How she put so many tapestry parts on top of stone pedestal and collecting them back without her two friends noticing is beyond me

3. Page 49, is the suspect two-timing? The victim wrote that her friend had a heart break and said friend's boyfriend then broke up because of that? What? I can't wrap my head around this either...

Totally confusing chapter compared to the stellar chapter from iff 2 days ago..

But still, thanks Irregular for the release 😀

The broken bead and walnut evidence don't really work. The force on any individual bead isn't enough to split it in half and the walnut would just get pushed out of the way by a slow moving stone.

@Fraksinus
1. The latter; she just gave it a start.
2. I have no idea how she planned it out ahead of time without them knowing, too. How did she know the tapestry would be useful beforehand?
3. I think so but it's confusing.

I mean, this author doesn't make a lot of good cases. Part of the reason why it's not as popular as other detective mangas.

@4V29LN0n You're definitely wrong there. In Japan, C.M.B. is decently popular and Q.E.D is very popular; only Case Closed and Kindaichi are bigger than Q.E.D. They just aren't as well known here, probably because they were translated relatively late. Oddly enough, Q.E.D is more popular than Kindaichi on MangaDex, while in reality Kindaichi is second only to Case Closed.

i wonder if there's translation error here? like it should be broken heart on page 26 instead of arm (it's referring to elsa after all, translator might got confused when the previous pic is viviana with broken hand)

@Fraksinus : maybe putting some kind of string on them so she can pull it and recover the tapestry faster? though i honestly don't know how and when she set those up. i feel like the author is too focused with the message here than the trick

@gormadoc I see, thanks for explanation

@sotokouya now that I read it again (still confusing lol) that last panel on pg 26 sure should be about when miss Elsa broke her heart, and those posted photos may very well be the nail in the coffin for the victim
