In the end they created the ships and decided to leave the island to find civilization. I don't know if it's a good idea or a bad one because: you need supplies to last for months, somehow it has a mast and oars to row during the days without wind.

There is no way they can do this in one year or two unless you were living on the most peaceful and fertile island in the world. So the ending is a bit of a shark jump.
