Lol but seriously I look forward to this story. It’s more backstory than I ever expected a series like Ingoshima to get.

Worth noting like someone else did in the comments that Present Day Gamou has dialed back a lot of the unnecessary cruelty from the past and has even expanded the standing of women and merit based applicants. It almost looks like Present Gamou is currently in the middle of navigating progress for the island while appeasing the old guard until they can be fully replaced.
I mean I doubt it’ll get that smart but it’ll be hilarious if this whole series ends up becoming about island politics with the twist of Gamou being well-intentioned all this time.
