I live in Ukraine and have been using mangadex without issue for more than a year, but suddenly a few days ago it just wouldn't load. Instead it would come up with the "err_connection_refused" page. Using a vpn fixes it but I don't want to use one whenever i want to read some manga, any help would be much appreciated.

I thought people from Ukraine can't access MD without VPN anyway but you only have problem now? Maybe your ISP finally decides to abide by the gov or something?
Pardon my stupid talk I know nothing about internet security or such, but apparently due to MD using DDoS Guard from Russia? And Ukraine blocks Russian things isn't it?

Edit: Back then my country blocked facebook and wordpress, but not all ISPs actually did that, there was 1-2 ISPs that still allowed FB and WP until the gov found out and forced them to do it or face great consequence, hence my statement.

Actually, i just realized something. I've been spending time at my grandma's house this past week and i believe the isp here is different than the ones we've had any where else - thus the problem appearing suddenly.
I will be going back home soon and will be sure to respond here again when i get there. Thank you for sharing this with me or i probably wouldn't have figured it out lol

Yes, Ukraine in particular likes blocking our site. Nothing we can do, unfortunately.
