I've had feelings for a friend of mine since we were 5 and no one else has ever come close, a decade ain't shit. I think cases as extreme as mine are exceptionally rare though.

Helps that it was mutual and then we dated for a bit when we were teens so it wasn't a onesided thing you often see in cases like this, but these days whenever we're together we both ignore the elephant in the room and talk around it.
