Compressed Images Causing Image Tearing Effect

I assume someone's already mentioned this somewhere, but I was wondering if there's any particular reason for the strange image effects from the compressed images option on some pages (hopefully an example is attached). Is there anything that can be done or is it just an unavoidable problem when compressing images?

I am also having this issue. Turning off compressed images does seem to fix it while no amount of reloading does. Perhaps an issue with the source? https://mangadex.org/chapter/944325/10 page 10 for an example. I am using the long strip reader.
