wow. this was so beautiful. such an interesting take on death and the morality of it. she's glad there's no mermaids in the real ocean, but satoshi's mom would have probably wished there were if it meant she could bring back her son. it freaked me out at first that stripe was just casually killed off in something that seemed like a childrens story - the weird dichotomy of the themes reminds me of made in abyss
