Uhm… Katya's s'posed to be extremely proficient with computers. That “remind me later” message is associated with a crap operating system which is intensely avoided by non-dweebs; and, even were she running that crap OS, she'd be running it in a virtual machine.

@Oeconomist if you remember a past chapter, she's also part of a group where at least one member thinks bing is better than google, so best to take her computer knowledge with some doubt.

I don't recall the context of that expressed preference for Bing; but, while every technically proficient person will recognize that Google is a richer source, one of the things that drives people to use Bing is that they regard it as far less manipulative than Google, and that would certainly count amongst those in a conspiracy-research group.

@Oeconomist well, if I remember right, the only computer proficiency she's ever actually shown is an obsession with a single video game, so....

Well, it's not the character but the writer who would need forgiveness. And the issue is that her observed behavior isn't consistent with her alleged proficiency. The fact that her behavior may never have supported a claim of proficiency doesn't get around that issue.

@Oeconomist but where was she ever alleged to be proficient in anything other than her one video game? I disagree with you, and I think this is actually quite in character with her. As she had stated, she prioritized the game above all else, so I see no reason she would know of or care about any other details.

Perhaps I misremember but, in any case, I would not again wade through previous episodes to find where she is represented as proficient. I follow this series mostly out of inertia.
