When nothing can be done, hard decisions must be made. Doesn't mean it doesn't haunt them. Which is probably why they take in so many orphans now to try to assuage that guilt. Again, we know nothing of them at this point. You're the idiot for assuming things based on your own morals/attitude. How do you know they didn't try to look afterward, for example? Do you think all the bodies were found in the wreckage of the twin towers? Which means that probably adds to their guilt because now they didn't even have remains to properly put to rest(very important in Chinese culture...especially if they're superstitious...they might think he's become a Hungry Ghost or something).
