Beard hair? Doesn't hurt that much. Mustache hair, on the other hand... the closer you get to the nose, the more it hurts.
As for pubes, they're kind of a special case. If you pull them out, they hurt a lot. However, people lose a ton of pubes all the time, so there are lots of pubes that are barely hanging on.
As long as you don't force them out, you can scoop out a lot of them with very little effort and pain.
They're quite similar to head hair. It hurts if you pull, but they fall out on their own if you don't.
