1) Unfortunately, for some, this portrayal of how immersed they are in their career is accurate. It result in very lopsided lives.
Not just in music, other areas have the same. And if something happens to derail things, they have no idea how to adjust.
And... for things to become that lopsided, it generally requires their parents' being obsessed as well, so they are no help at that time, as they aren't dealing well with it either.
It can get very nasty.
Of course, how much that lopsided focus was a result of their own desires, and how much that of others, impacts how well they adjust.
In this case... there are hints that he didn't actually choose to be this way, but was raised this way; his father apparently was a great pianist, and determined that his son would be his heir, his successor, the carrier on of a legacy.
And that his mother shares that focus; at least, just when he needs the most support, she's off searching for cures to whatever caused the problem so he can continue his career, without having anyone looking after him.
Left all alone, just at the time when one would be most inclined to end it all.
Does not reflect a concern for him as an individual, in my mind.
Damn lucky to have a childhood friend who will take charge, to an extent.
Just so long as she doesn't go overboard.
Checking the trash to see what he's dumping... could be creepy, could be a sensible checking to make sure he doesn't do something he'd regret later on.
Depends upon her motivation.
2) An online doppelganger?
I'd be freaked out.
Someone going to the effort to recreate me in that detail, without my knowing about it?
Visions of psycho stalkers springs to mind.
Or someone out to tarnish my image.
Or build it up, in their perception.
Is it even possible for this to have been done by a stranger, depending upon how detailed the copy is?
And... as an avatar in a fighting game?
Just how am I perceived, by this person?
Can I find out who has done this?
Is it safe to find out?
Is it safe to not find out, now that I'm aware that this has been done.
My head would hurt, thinking about such a thing.
And... so far, who looks to be the best candidate for such a thing...
Like there are any choices; only one other person has really been introduced, after all!
