I made this thread so the old timers like me, whose eyes glaze over when trying to figure out the Discord, can get some help figuring out whats going on in there!😨

I guess I'll start.
One of the things I really like about the oldschool forum format is the ability to open a thread and see the posts displayed in order from oldest to newest. That way I can browse through even a very long thread and get a idea of the story unfolding in the discussion. When I log into the Discord there's a whole lot of talking ,but I can't seem to get deep enough into the recent history to find out just what everybody is jabbering about! There are indicators saying whats new since I logged in, and I can jump back a few posts into the timestream but sometimes going back 50 posts may only send me back 5 minutes!
That doesn't help much when I'm trying to go back to where I left off 24 hours or more ago.

Is there a way to set in personal preferances that I would like to enter the server with the posts from, for example ,8 hours prior displayed, or from the time I logged out so I can skim through the posts on may way to the present?

Also: What is the red circle for "4 new mentions" next to the invit icon for the announcements server?😳
