The first chapter was totally fine, but also didn't at this time contain any of the summary-advertised romance.

At the same time, that ostensible romance—given the characters as I see them currently—sounds sort of completely horrifying (not because of the inherent weirdness of a girl/giant-skeleton pairing: That much I'm totally fine with on principle).
