Feel like the anime overall had a better story development til now, especially the beautiful ending sequence that evolved with every episode. The manga does a better job at explaining things tho.
I like the Brother in this version more tho as he was also simply foolishly used by his father in the same way to gain power without any sacrifice of his own. The brother was also just being envious of the moral support Hyakku had with 3 loving parents and a friend.
It shows that the father here is just powerhungry and cowardly, while in the anime he still somehow "cared" about his 2nd son and wife. There he was simply a fool who didnt think of the longterm consequences.
