@pokefairy It is understandable for them though. Being forced to live on an island where the technology is behind, most old homes there don't even have a flush toilet. And working there for the husband is a career dead-end. Still hitting the kid is too much.
The son is still young so he doesn't understand but there is a fact that when kids on those islands become teenagers, they will want to leave the island to have a career in the city.
