For those of you hating on Bete I won't say you're wrong because he IS an unrepentant asshole. However he also has very good and believable reasons for being the way he is. I won't go into it any further but the ark after this one is Bete's ark and you'll learn quite a bit more about him. does that excuse his behavior? No, but the same could be said for Ka-chan from Boku no Hero and people still fell in love with the character after he developed beyond just a simple bully.
