Huh, it was pretty obvious that the "woman in white" was going to turn out to be Elda, but I'm shocked they resolved that in just the next chapter. Kudos to the author, a lesser manga would have kept up that stupid "mystery" through the whole series.

Yeah, I pretty much agree all of this. If it's gonna be something painfully obvious to the readers, don't just dangle it over their heads forever. Get it over and done with, maybe play around with how finding out this shocking revelation changes things between them instead of just tacking this on after the fact 'cause things would change between them even without it.
