Elf Deck To Senjou Gurashi - Vol. 2 Ch. 8 - Rematch

@Porg
1: Previous chapters have established that it was a beastman town, merely ruled by humans. So it was the beastmen that suffered and died the most. Beastmen who were previously friendly to the naga and were the elves' potential future trading partners.
2: Infants are not very capable of murdering or enslaving anyone, so it seems unlikely that they were directly responsible.

All the innocent people in the town paid the price. Previous chapters have established that it was a beastman town, merely ruled by humans. So it was the beastmen that suffered and died the most. Beastmen who were previously friendly to the naga and were the elves' potential future trading partners.
@icekatze seems like you are misunderstanding, there are multiple towns in this chapter

humans killed elves, then lose to orcs, and beastmen town is destroyed. saint puts up a ward around church

orcs moved on to human town, where elves finished off both of them because both are enemies

this is a FFA where green moves to save brown from red, white suddenly kills green, so red kills brown.

then in rematch green kills red and white.

Ya know, I'd expect her to throw in this saint's face how it's her side's fault those people died, given their interference meant their earlier nigh-guaranteed win was a loss.
But for some reason nobody's pointed that out after the initial loss.

I'm not liking the MC currently. I'm fine w/ making the saint suffer some since it is her fault the orcs weren't defeated at the outset, but that reason hasn't even been mentioned. Instead, the MC just shows a lack of sympathy for those who have died and goes on about being optimal...

Is there any particular reason why the MC is a fucking psychopath
Maybe there was a reason why he was bullied holy shit

@Porg But white didnt kill green
White showing up somehow removed their invincibility shit so red one hit the entire town

look, how many of you are just not reading the chapters? this story is not that complicated

@Kampfarsch the invincibility comes from grandpa elf, so when white killed him, everyone else died to orcs

I really don't get how ppl want to apply their values to others so much.
The mc doesn't care about the death of others. He just wants to live the new life he's given in the way he wants to, no matter what he has to do to reach that goal. He also has strictly no reason to care about others' death. Just like I don't care about the deaths in wars outside my country, there are no reasons for him to care. He just lives and thinks in the most logical way.
Sympathy is a situation-bound opinion that isn't shared by everyone.

@ClemCa theres a difference between being able to save them easily but choosing not too, to people dying in some place you dont know and cant do anything about

@Kampfarsch

More likely he became like this because of the bullying- it's hard to learn empathy for others when you're getting kicked around every day.

Bruh this is literally war, the mc when in late so she's actually prepared and her elves won't get sacrificed this time

@TheGoodFella That's why I said exactly what I did: not everyone shares your values. The world doesn't revolve around your way of thinking and not everything feels the same way about everything as you do. If someone doesn't care about the life of a stranger, then he doesn't. Choosing to help others at a cost is a personal choice, it shouldn't even be a thing to intrude on others' personal choices. If you can understand others have different tastes, different preferences in clothes, and different sexualities, how can you not understand others have different values. YOUR values do not apply to someone ELSE.
